How would you deal with a new player that is confused about the server's interface and how to start out?: I would use my own personal knowledge when I first joined, Stickers was there with me helping me every step of the way. I would know EXACTLY what to do haha.
How would you handle a player that began using extreme profanity and would not stop when asked to?: This would guarantee a gag, you would also need to keep an eye on the person incase they started to grief other folks creations.
How would you handle if the server randomly started to lag and there was no apparent reason after investigating players for lag machines or other malicious acts?: IMMEDIATELY inform a higher up of this issue, i'm afraid its out of a Trial-mod/Moderators hands. (it also might be my own setup so rule this out FIRST)
